At our childbirth class last night, we all had to hold ice cubes and pretend they represented the pain of contractions. We then used different ways to get through the pain.
One lady, who has 3 kids, said she wasn't sure that contractions were so painful! I know I am naive, but come on. If all I have to do is the equivalent of holding ice cubes for hours on end, things'll be a lot smoother than I am expecting them to be!

My contractions didn't hurt so I didn't want to go to the hospital. I called my aunt when the doctor said go into the hospital. She told me the contractions do not have to hurt. I deliever within 4 hours of that call. The funny thing is 4 other girls in my prenatal call almost delieved at home because they were expecting it to feel much worse and didn't want to be at the hopital early.
ReplyDeleteI found the worst time is right after your water breaks but I was luck enough not to have mine break till just before my daughter was born.
